COLUMBUS DAY STARS QB MIKE BELL-WHEELWRIGHT IS RETURNING AS ONE OF THE BEST QB'S IN THE NATION. A FUTURE AYF ALL-STAR WILL BE ATTENDING THE IMG MADDEN ACADEMY IN FLORIDA. THE IMG ACADEMY IS A ELITE SCHOOL FOR ELITE TALENT. THEY TRAIN THE BEST TALENT IN THE NATION. BELL HAS LEAD HIS TEAM TO THE NATIONAL THE PAST THREE YEARS AND IS LOOKING FOR A BIG YEAR IN 2011. BELL SAID" I AM EXCITED ABOUT ATTENDING THE CAMP AND TRYING TO BECOME A BETTER FOOTBALL PLAYER. MY DAD PLAYED COLLEGE BALL,MY GRANDFATHER (ERNIE WHEELWRIGHT II)PLAYED FOR THE NY GIANTS, MY UNCLE(ERNIE WHEELWRIGHT IV) PLAYED FOR THE BALTIMORE RAVENS AND MY YOUNGER UNCLE( ROBERT WHEELWRIGHT) IS BEING RECRUITED FROM SEVERAL MAJOR DIVISION I SCHOOLS AS A WIDE RECEIVER AND HE IS JUST A SOPHOMORE, SO I GUESS YOU CAN SAY THE BAR IS SET HIGH, SO I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO WORK HARD TO BE SUCCESSFUL, THEY WOULD HAVE IT NO OTHER WAY, IT'S IN MY BLOOD."
Columbus Day Stars Finish 2nd In The Nation in 2008 AYF National Championships and returns back to win it all in 2009
In a quest to win it all the Columbus Day Stars will face the Parkside Warriors in the first round to try to advance back to the Under Armour AYF National Championship to bring it home to Columbus,Oh. The Day Stars come into the tournament with an outstanding 12-0 record, but Parkside Wis picked to win it all after returning to Division
Day Stars fall short in AYF National Championships in Orlando
Columbus Day Stars fall short to potential National Champs Parkside Warriors of Maryland. A great effort came up short in a gane that started out with to big plays to lock the score at 6-6. However, Parkside appeared to be to big and strong as they used a solid running game to bring home the victory. Day Stars finished 4th in the nation and I know will be back next year.
